Q Here is a reminder of what the syllabus says about your final paper: "Literary research paper. You will write a paper focusing on a topic related to our class. This paper will be a combination final exam/library research paper three to four pages long. The paper will challenge you to report the latest information regarding any issue facing any group from a sociological perspective. For the paper, you are required to turn in a one-page summary of your progress, one week before it is due so I can give you feedback. The summary will bank 20 of the 150 points on the paper. " Some additional thoughts: More than half of the paper (2 of the 3 pages) still needs to be a take-home exam. You need to bring together info from Conley, class videos, and zoom info. The difference is that you will also spend about a page of your three pages sharing new information about your chosen topic. You will be the class expert and get me new information your topic. Remember, expectations and standards rise with this paper being the third time you do the same basic assignment. You should know what I am looking for by now. This paper is done in waves. -Wave 1:For now, this is a place to submit a short "status report/one-page summary" on your paper. I want EVERYONE to submit something by 4/30. For many this will be just a few lines about topics you are interested in. For some, you will share that you have done begun with your research and paper outline, maybe you will even have you beginning paragraph for me to review. For others, you will honestly need to just say "I've done nothing so far". This first happens from now until 4/30. You can upload or just type in this first part. Don't forget to check back for comments/feedback from me on your status report. I will put 20 pts here that will be "banked" for you to signify that you have submitted something for this status report. It will look awkward for a time that you have 20/150 pts for this assignment. Just ignore that. Remember, don't trust canvas to compute your grade -Wave 2: Early Papers. You have until the end of the day Friday 5/7 to turn in any early paper for 10 bonus points. -Wave 3: Final submission. All final papers due 5/12. Regarding turning in stuff here, you upload your file. I prefer that you have it done in WORD. I don't like anything in google and like pdf. Grades are due 5/26. I usually go right to the edge.
